I am 5’2, I fluctuate between 130-140 pounds all the time. My measurements are 38-32-40. Super curvy boriqua, and most of the time I’m happy with that :) I certainly could afford to tone up/smooth out areas of my body before summer though!

Hi beautiful ladies! My name is Alejandra and I never thought I would be brave enough to submit on this page. I have followed this blog for quite sometime now and I have been inspired by all of you. Here I am at 165 lbs, finally feeling comfortable in my own skin and celebrating my curves. I have redefined the meaning of beauty for myself and although it varies from day to day, I finally see beauty when I look in the mirror.
You have all done this for me.
Let’s have a curvilicious 2013, Shall we?

I have been raiding my mother’s closet for years. When my sister and I were younger, we used to get dressed up in her old fancy nightgowns and have “fashion shows” down the hallway. Of course all of the nightgowns looked silly on my 10-year-old frame. It wasn’t until recently that I thought to dust off that box of nightgowns and search for something that I could incorporate into daily fashion. And voilà, I found this. I totally understand that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea - but I’m in LOVE with it. The bottom portion of the dress is sheer, which is pretty liberating in this weather.
After finding this dress, I had a few belts in mind to pair with it, but none *really* popped. Then I found this bad boy at the Goodwill today for $3. And I fell in love with them together!
Does anyone else have any great finds from their mother’s closet? If you do, I’d love to see them! Send your look/find to: d.roulx@yahoo.com with a Subject line: “Mom’s Closet” and I’ll post a few! (Don’t be shy!)
And to bring this post to an end: a candid from today’s shoot with my adorable pup, Jasmine.

It took me years to accept being not what many consider an ideal body shape, being surrounded constantly with this ideology of what is ‘beautiful’. Now that I’m 30 , I love who I’am and the woman I’ve become and I wouldn’t change a thing about me.
